Frequently asked questions

Do you store my M365 data?

No. Your Microsoft 365 data flows directly from Microsoft's servers to your own cloud storage (Azure Blob, S3, or GCS). BYOVault only processes the data in memory to encrypt it — we never write it to our own storage.

What counts as a 'tenant'?

A tenant is one Microsoft 365 organisation (one Entra tenant ID). Each client you manage is one tenant. The MSP plan includes 10 tenants, with additional tenants at $6/month each.

Can I bring my existing Azure or AWS storage?

Yes — that's the whole point. You connect your own Azure Blob container, AWS S3 bucket, or Google Cloud Storage bucket. Credentials are stored encrypted in Azure Key Vault.

How does billing work if I exceed tenant limits?

MSP accounts are charged $6/month per additional tenant beyond the 10 included. You'll see a clear breakdown in your billing dashboard each month.

Is there a self-hosted option?

Not currently in public plans. Enterprise customers can discuss self-hosted or private-cloud deployment options. Contact sales@byovault.com.
